130402 [NEWS] "IRIS 2" Characters To Live On In Online Shooter Game

Fans who can't get enough of seeing their favorite characters in the spy drama sequel "IRIS 2," won't have to suffer withdrawal when the series ends. Several of the series' characters are being added to the first-person online shooter game Sudden Attack!

National Security Service agent, Ji Soo Yeon, played by Lee Da Hae and detective turned NSS agent, Jung Yoo Gun, played by Jang Hyuk, are naturally going to be featured in the game version of "IRIS 2." But kdrama and kpop fans may be pleased to learn that Lee Joon of MBLAQ, who plays NSS operations head Yoon Shi Hyuk, and Yoon Doo Joon of B2ST, who plays agent Seo Hyun Woo, will also have their own characters in the game. All of the actors will use their own voices and recording is already underway.

As a bonus, the "IRIS 2" game characters will get special weapons and effects. And the game will provide a new map that is based on the concept of the KBS2 drama.

The plot of "IRIS 2," a sequel of the popular spy series, "IRIS," revolves around the attempts of the NSS to take down the terrorist group, Iris. It takes place three years after the terrorist organization has killed National Intelligence Service agent Kim Yeon Jun, played by Lee Byung Hun.

At the start of the show, the NSS is guarding a summit between North and South Korea and NSS ex-director Baek San, played by Kim Young Chul, is safely imprisoned at an NSS prison on a remote island.

A helicopter requests permission to land on the island and the pilots identify themselves as NSS agents, but they are actually IRIS members. They break Baek San out of prison, but as the helicopter ascends, he jumps into the ocean.

After that there are plenty of chase sequences, gunfights, spy moles to be routed out and threatened attacks, all of which make for a dramatic spy series and form the basis for a decent first person shooter game, especially if there is a character you have been wanting to kill off.

Sudden Attack is a free-to-play, multiplayer game developed by the South Korean company, GameHi, that now belongs to Nexon. The game features 11 play modes.
