I want to meet with things I am not capable of and go challenge myself
Q. What is your thought about standing on the stage as the lead Kang Hyun Woo in the musical “Gwanghwamun Sonata”?
At the beginning I was worried that reaction would be slow because the Japanese subtitles came out beside the stage, but when people from a wide range of age groups sympathized with us and even shed tears, I was really overwhelmed with emotion. Out of about 150 performances I appeared 17 times and G.O 20 times, but because both of us tried doing musical for the first time, even if it was a little, if we had time we practiced together, and it became something like a part of our lives. We worked as hard as possible to get rid of the appearances we always had and associate with the perfect reality in the musical.

Q. Do you want to try doing musical again in the future?
I want to. It may be good to even try a bad guy role this time. I think I want to try something I myself am not capable of and learn more and more things.

Q. During the event in February even all the members say that a bright Seungho who was different than usual was seen in Japan…?
I didn’t want to lie to the fans, and I didn’t want to do such things as playing the hypocrite and pretending to be cool forcibly. So, I may have looked a bit quiet so far, but because they are the fans who always support us, and when we’ve already had a comfortable relation now I think freely…(laugh) I’m thinking I’ll steadily show my original self in front of the fans.

Q. What is your thought about standing on the stage as the lead Kang Hyun Woo in the musical “Gwanghwamun Sonata”?
I tried as hard as I could, felt the pleasure of going on the stage, and was able to discover a self different from before. I want to try playing Judas in “Jesus Christ Superstar” some day. All the characters of this piece of work have mustache. Mustache is good. I am actually a mustache mania… (laugh). So I definitely want to be given a role that overflows with charisma like that.

Q. You enthusiastically played an agent of the cyber investigation team in “Phantom”. What is your thought about starring in the drama?
Senior Kwak Do Won who played Kwon Hyuk Joo looked over my acting very carefully for me. It was my start as an actor, but he really became my strength, and thanks to the seniors the stress on my shoulders was removed and I was able to deal with my acting.

Q. What is your thought on trying out the unit “Dramatic Blue” with BEAST’s Yang Yoseob, 2AM’s Jokwon, INFINITE’s Woohyun and TEENTOP’s Niel on SBS Gayo Daejun?
It was joined together by the main vocal of various groups, so it was very interesting, and to me it was a new experience. When all 5 members put on the blue suit we became looking like the anime “Smurf.” Hahaha (laugh).

Actor and singer, I have 2 professions
Q. You are the main lead of the movie “Actor Is An Actor,” but what is difficult in acting?
Everyday was always a new challenge during the filming, but the seniors who starred in the movie with me treated me with love and I had no difficulties at all.

Q. How is the filming of the drama “IRIS2″ that you are starring in now?
I’m originally shy of strangers, and I was worried about what would be the nice way for an idol like me to get along with the actors, but when I went to the filming site that was only my overanxiety and it was totally fine. At the filming site I’m always together with BEAST’s Yoon Doojoon. We also go to the bathroom together, talk about different things, and receive advice on acting… Oh, it’s weird to go to the bathroom with a male colleague, isn’t it…? No look, beside filming it’s not the atmosphere where you can talk, so when we don’t go to an independent space like the bathroom, we are quite quite and don’t have a chance to talk (laugh).

Q. Is there any difference between being an artist and an actor?
There’s no difference. In my case, actor and singer, I think both of them are my own profession. Maybe because on the stage I utilize what I learned through acting, with that kind of meaning I might be having the strong point of being able to express 2 charms at the same time.

First time trying drama, I want to learn different things
Q. You are playing the lead role in the drama “Nail Shop PARIS,” but what is your current state of mind?
I was under great pressure at the beginning. However, there are 4 main characters including me and it’s not the 1top formation* that has only me, so contrarily I’m grateful. The atmosphere at the filming site is also good and fun! I was like dying when I was wearing spring clothing at the filming location in midwinter, though (laugh). It was my first time, so I’m working as hard as possible with an attitude of learning different things.

Q. How do you spend the filming breaks with your co-star KARA’s Gyuri?
We share candies (laugh). We always share our food. As we also often talk about the music industry and she would worry about me and say “is there anything difficult?” she is a very nice senior.

Q. How was the reaction around you when it was decided that you would be in a drama?
My elder sister (2NE1′s DARA) was so happy. It seems like my elder sister also has the thought of wanting to do acting, and she congratulated me that her own younger brother has come to take the challenge of an actor with her. I don’t live with my members, so although we can’t do the monitoring together… Honestly a lot of times we are also busy to the point that we don’t even have time to watch TV as well, so we try to check each other’s programs when we have time.

Q. What was the most difficult thing in “Law of the Jungle in Amazon”?
It’s a place where you have to be conscious that you’re exposed to danger all the time, so I was mentally tired. We couldn’t take our meals, if it rained when we were sleeping we couldn’t sleep while being struck by the rain, and 1 day was like 1 year… However, it became a really good experience. I’m thankful that water comes out from the tap, I’m also thankful that there’s food, and I learned a lot of things.

Q. You are raising a snake and lizard, but what is the charm of that?
I’ve been liking reptiles since I was little. At the beginning they were all scary, but when I got used to them they were cute and I fell for them. Reptiles are extremely clean animals. Aren’t they interesting, marvelous and cute! As for snakes I’ve raised a tape snake and Boa constrictor. I was also raising 3 lizards, but they all died… Now I live with 2 animals in total, 1 snake and 1 alligator that is being raised by G.O hyung.

Q. What do you want to try in the future?
It’s singing. I haven’t sung for 5~6 years. Rapping has been fun and I’ve been thinking about rapping only so far, but lately I’ve come to think that I want to try singing.
