Artists Tribute To Chile highlights Korean Pop Festival
Music Bank’s Groups cited The Jaivas and Violeta Parra at Quinta Vergara that was filled with national/local and foreign fans.
Elegance, dance, music, timing, style and lots of euphoria are the main ingredients that make up Music Bank, the TV program and the most important in the world Kpop (Korean pop) festival, in an unprecedented manner took place last night at Quinta Vergara, making Chile the only place in Latin America that could witness the show.
Which is why the event gathered around 15,000 people, not only from Chile, but from other countries from the continent such as Brazil and Argentina. In addition, Korean residents were abundant in the area that came to Vina Del Mar to watch the six bands that were part of the show.
At exactly five minutes past 8PM the concert began with a couple videos and images shown on six LED panels from each of the participating bands accompanied with a light show. As the audiences’ mood started to elevated more and more, a few minutes later, Super Junior, After School, MBLAQ, CN Blue, Davichi, and Rania finally came on stage.
The Striking Start
Fans were excited to see them with just feet away in distance. The euphoria grew and screams grew as the song “Everyone Together” by The Jaivas started playing with Maoi Statues from Easter Island in the background. The shock was when over thirty Korean artists began to sing along with the song. Every one of the bands played a part, which was also enthusiastically echoed by the fans.
After the start of the K-pop show, MBLAQ boys danced to the audience with a style similar to American band *NSYNC due to their choreography and pop tunes. Then the show was followed by Rania and subsequently by the girl group After School.
After the first groups of the show, came the so-called “Dancing in Latin America” where Korean dancers moved to the beat of three stylistic characteristics from this part of the world. They left with the one foot Cueca (national dance ofChile) which immediately gained the audience’s applause.
Afterwards, the show followed by Lambada (Brazilian Ballroom Dance) and eventually with a Ricky Martin “Livin la Vida Loca” (Living a Crazy Life) imitation by one of the Korean artists.
Tribute to Chile
However the public became fascinated by the rendition of The Jaivas by the delicate voices of Davichi’s two members who sang Violeta Parra’s “Gracias a la Vida” (Thanks to Life) which was one of the golden clips of the night. The tributes to Chilecontinued on with an inspirational number for the rescue of 33 miners from the San Jose mine in 2010.
While images of the proceedings were projected to the audience, members of CN Blue sang Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender” accompanied by the lighting of people’s cell phones. This was joined with the dance interpretation and singing of the song “Gangnam Style” by their fellow rapper, Psy.
Though, certainly the most anticipated show of the night was by Asia’s music industry band icon, Super Junior. As this edition went to press, members remained on stage giving some of their recently composed albums.
