Group MBLAQ released jacket photos for their Japanese EP.

On February 27, a Japanese official channel released three jacket photos taken under the concepts of powerful black, kind white, and energetic pink for their EP Mona Lisa.

The EP is their third Japanese single, which is the Japanese version of their song “Mona Lisa.” The song received the most attention when the group toured Japan.

MBLAQ toured Asia, including Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore, last year under the ‘The BLAQ% Tour.’

MBLAQ will release the third single on March 27.

MBLAQ’s Lee Jun and B2ST’s Yoon Doo Jun recently took a picture together.

An official for KBS’s series Iris 2 tweeted a picture of Lee and Yoon.

In the picture, Lee looks chic while closing his eyes and making the V sign. Even though he is not staring at the camera, he looks manly. He also captured the fans’ attention with his upgraded appearance.

Yoon, on the other hand, looks cute. He is also making the V sign and for the camera and it made people laugh.

People who saw the picture responded: “I’m enjoying the series.” “They are so attractive.” “Lee looks handsome and Yoon is cute.” “I should watch the series on time.”

Lee and Yoo play the role of NSS agents Yoon Si Hyuk and Seo Hyung Woo on the series.

The race goes on. 

As SBS’ That Winter, The Wind Blows continues to reign over Wednesday night, the real battle turned out to be for second place. 

KBS’ Iris 2 and MBC’s 7th Grade Civil Servant has been competing against each other for second place with a very small difference between them. 

On Wednesday, Iris 2 took the win for second place, but by a really tiny margin of 0.1 percent, meaning things can easily get turned around by Thursday night. 

Meanwhile, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon made an appearance on Iris 2

MBLAQ fans rejoice! Recently on February 27, MBLAQ released jacket images for their 3^rd official Japanese single “Mona Lisa.” The jacket images were released in 3 different colors. “Black” is meant to represent their strong performances on stage, “White” is meant to represent how gentle they are off stage, and “Vivid” (Magenta) is meant to represent their lively image.

Last year, MBLAQ had a “The BLAQ% Tour” that ran through 6 different countries that include Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. During the tour “Mona Lisa” had the best response and support from fans. That is why MBLAQ chose to make “Mona Lisa” the third official Japanese track. They have recorded a new version and also have filmed a new music video for Japanese fans.

“Mona Lisa” will be released in Japan on March 27. After the release of the single, MBLAQ plans on having their comeback in Japan.

130227 [NEWS] MBLAQ takes on three different looks for the album jackets of Japanese single “Mona Lisa”

MBLAQ has taken on three different looks for the three album jackets of their Japanese single, ”Mona Lisa“, leaving fans saying, “oh yeah”, as they pick and choose their favorite!

As typical of most Japanese releases, there will be several versions of the single including two limited editions and one regular edition. So for each edition comes a new jacket; the boys sport a tough, charismatic look in all black ensembles for the first one, a preppy, boy-next-door image for the second, and finally a fun and funky look for the third version.

Their Japanese label explained the concept behind the photos stating, “The black represents their powerful performances on stage, and the white and vivid colors represent their kind and lively image when they’re not on stage.”

MBLAQ will release their 3rd Japanese single on March 27th, so you have plenty of time to debate with yourself about whether to pick one, or you know, just splurge on all three to your wallet’s dismay.

130227 [NEWS] Lee Joon finally makes an appearance in ‘Iris 2′

‘Iris 2‘ was off to a blazing start with high TV ratings but for the first two weeks, Lee Joon was nowhere to be found. Many viewers were kept wondering where he could possibly be but the MBLAQ member finally made his long awaited appearance on the 5th episode.

The 5th episode aired on the 27th, and to make up for his lengthy absence, his voice was even used for the beginning narration.

Even though he played a serious, cool character for his first scene, he soon showed some elements of his real-life self, being a proud and fun character. He’s going to be swept up in an unusual situation as he guards the former president in the drama, and even though he complains about his tasks, he always fulfills his duty until the very end. His action scenes awed the entire staff, especially the director.

Remember Rain’s sculpture-like body in the 2009 movie Ninja Assassin?

Well, it turns out that Rain is just like the rest of us - in that he likes to eat a lot and when he does, he gains weight too.

On February 27, Rain’s health trainer, a woman, Park Ji Eun came on MBC’s Good Day to demonstrate exercises and share tips on maintaining a healthy diet.
She also shared a backstory about Rain, saying “I call Rain by his real name Ji Hoon. Ji Hoon is also the type to gain weight easily. Although he is known for his awesome fit body, he had become sick of working out so much after undergoing extreme training for the movie Ninja Assassin.

She continued, “Ji Hoon has always loved eating. When he came to see me after filming for the movie, he was 16 kg (35 lbs.) heavier. I bet I was the only person to see him chubby. He came and told me he wanted to lose 16 kg for his new music video for Love Song. Another trainer and I helped him with the training.”
So how in the world does Rain keep his body so hot?

The trainer said of Rain, “When I tell Ji Hoon to do 10,000 jump ropes, he really jumps 10,000 jump ropes. He works out faithfully, doing everything exactly the way I tell him to do for homework. Shedding 16 kg is not a joke.”

Can anyone imagine K-pop without the music video? From Psy to Girls’ Generation, the music video is becoming the defining characteristic behind our favorite K-pop groups. In a sense, it may actually be more important than the song itself because when a new song is released, instead of buying the CD (that’s so 10 years ago) or downloading the MP3, fans are now looking straight for the music video. It sets the tone and concept, and in a lot of cases, the majority of the budget goes towards the music video compared to the album production.
K-pop music videos are some of the most innovative in the world today but there were some great videos from back in the day that were pretty influential in their own right. This week’s WBW will take a look back at some of the most influential old school music videos from back in the day and while they might be older, they’re still pretty cool to watch.

Rain – It’s Raining

He had big hits before this but I don’t think you can argue that this song made Rain the man. He melds his unique dance style with an J.Y. Park original beat for one of his best videos and a K-pop classic that was the start of his journey to international recognition.

MBLAQ’s Seung Ho and miss A’s Fei Set for ‘Dancing With the Stars’

 

MBLAQ’s Seung Ho and miss A’s Fei will be testing out their dance skills in the third season for MBC’s Dancing with the Stars.

The two idols will be joining a talented pack of celebrities, who will show off various forms of ballroom dancing. The sketch recording was completed in the third week of February and the two participated in the poster shoot for the show on February 25.

Seung Ho and Fei will be competing against singers Kim Wan Sun, Kim Kyung Ho, actors Lee Jong Won and Nam Bo Ra, basketball player Woo Ji Won, billiards star Janet Lee, and magician Lee Eun Gyul, making it a very diverse group.

Each celebrity will be paired up with a professional dancer as they learn about the world of dance sports.

The show will kick off on March 15.
